I don’t know when these were made, but I just saw them. There seems to be a bunch of different ones in different languages. Watch them and you’ll see pretty easily why i like them.

I finished this little painting last night. It’s another little cat monster dude. I’m liking the flat-ish style. You’d think it would be easier to paint this way, but so far I’m not quite sure. trying to keep all the colors flat and even in tone, and all the lines and edges crisp present challenges on their own.
I think the direction is a good way to go for these kinds of paintings and want to do some more. I have one more small one sketched out already, and actually started a really big one (24″x36″) this weekend. I figure this style is good for the monstahs and I can continue to paint realisticly when I do still life and portraiture painting.

5″x4″ Acrylic on Canvasboard

Woops the monstah was late today. The post was set to be published at 6am, dunno why it didn’t show up.
I was looking for robot chicken clips on youtube and found this. The show really starts about 20 seconds in.

finished this little painting tonight, thought I’d post it.

I was trying for a very graphic, almost animation kinda feel. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s acrylic on canvasboard, 4×5 inches
In other news, For the past several weeks I’ve been taking an online course in digital painting of the human figure. It’s with Don seegmiller and hosted by CGSociety. I’ll post some of the stuff I’ve been doing in the course soon. Once the course is over I’ll write a short summary and review of what it was like.

Toothpaste!

“Oh no! There’s a crack in my taillight!”

Sadly that’s more than just a caption for this week’s monstah. Saturday afternoon I noticed that the taillight on the passenger side of my car does indeed have a crack in it. Not a hole, thankfully, just a crack for now. Sharp enough to cut my finger too… My first reaction when I saw it was a ‘what the hell?’ followed by several swears and then a sad acceptance.
Of course the back my car looks nothing like the one in the picture (I drive an echo) But I don’t want to be one of those people with coloured duck tape or hot glue holding their car together. Especially since it’s not even 4 years old… but I have a feeling a new taillight is going to cost alot. Eh well I guess I’ll see in may when I bring it in for service.
